In the 1970s and 80s Casio became an incredibly popular watch brand by using the latest technology and stylish designs like the 1983 G-shock. This watch was the first of its kind – combing a rugged look with shock resistance technology for a truly unique product. The 1980s also saw an influx of quartz crystal watches, both digital and analog Casio watches, and calculator watches for the businessman or student on the go. Another watch created by Casio in the 1980s could store telephone numbers. This was really innovative at the time, before we had cell phones to carry all our information around with us.
